A public hospital disaster -- They cannot even pay their bills

I guess the true test of any government's real worth is seen in the way they handle/manage and maintain the basic services needed for a large Western society. Law and Order, Education and Infrastructure such as utilities and transport are all at the top of the list but none is more important than the life and death requirements that is the Public Hospital and Medical Services.

"Here he goes again" I hear you say, yet another bash around the ears for this current ALP Government. Well ladies and gents this time above all others it is a well deserved bashing. Like I said before, state health services are a LIFE AND DEATH issue and to think that this once proud and efficient government portfolio has sunk to even new lows of not being able to pay its suppliers (some as long as six months!) speaks volumes about the inept way in which NSW (the highest taxing state in the country) is being run.

I know it's another 2 years until the next election and anything can happen but I doubt very much that the past decade and more of bureaucratic bungling and mismanagement will ever be repaired in time to make the voters forget.

I feel for the next government and the task ahead and hope that who ever it is has woken up to the fact that the people of NSW are not fools and will never stop believing in the fundamental principle that government is by the people and for the people....... that's why it's called the public service!

Best wishes to you and I hope you don't get sick.

To India we will go

With the jobless figure rising now the new reality and the brain drain to other countries (especially to the sub-continent) a shameful fact of life in Australia 2009, it makes you wonder just what will face university graduates today as they try to find the industries that were certainly here when they started their studies up to 6 years ago.

I for one am asking my kids to slow down and carefully look around and really think about their career choices due to the fact that their chosen fields just may not exist in this country by the time they get there.

Sure things are bad economically speaking but as has happened before this too will turn around. The problem is that these high skilled positions that we were once in the forefront with will simply need to be an imported service whilst we continue exporting the expertise.

Where is the sense in turning our back on future generations by making it impossible for them to excel unless they are prepared to leave the country? With an ever-ageing society, who the hell will be here to look after the needs of this already social welfare reliant land?

This is a question I would like answered by our leaders but as usual the silence from both sides is deafening !

Oz banks still coining the dough

Well as important as the entry of a new US president actually is and as historical as this particular man is, I still have to remind all that bother to follow my work that it was the policies of this President's Democratic Party that were truly responsible for the financial mess that we are ALL in now.

Yet as the world slides down the fiscal sword handmade by the vote-hungry dooooogoooders our great "UNREGULATED" banking system continues to put the boot in to the wage packet of the Aussie punter whilst we still have a few bob in the pocket.

I guess as most, they too see the writing on the wall and in my particular part of God's Green Garden....New South Wales, which is now OFFICIALLY in RECESSION (as if you didn't notice?!) The greed just continues to ride on unchallenged.

ATM fees at record high levels and not a damn thing you can do about it in this 24/7 cashless society where we now live. Some would say that it's all apart of the "Progressive Society". I call it for what it is, greed and a money grab. Bring back the oversight !

Of sharks and welfare housing

(There have been several shark attacks in Australian waters in the last few days and in Sydney there was a huge riot in a welfare housing estate)

Well all jokes aside I too am afraid of sharks.Only a mad man would treat these predators of the sea with disrespect. They are there and always have been and it is all apart of nature's game. Most of us are aware of the risk that is taken when you enter their domain.

Still it's not easy to find sympathy for any animal that kills our fellow man yet you must respect the obvious truth in the end.

What is just as frightening is not a part of nature's game but rather the game that the Social Engineers set up about 30 years ago and as each generation of housing commission ghettos become more and more a no-go zone not only for the public but for police also then isn't it about time that we as a civilised society do something about it?.

Instead we just move on to the next issue in the news cycle and then scratch our heads and so how sad when another one of these Gaza Strip experiments explode. The problem that the government (both parties) have now is that this is just too big a problem to address overnight. Not one pollie has the guts to tear these socialist failures down and start again by first accessing and relocating each individual case.

By assuming that all people are equal and like minded was mistake number one. That all people will actually use the safety net as a way to get back to self independence rather than using the safety net as a hammock for life goes far towards pointing out just how far removed our political leaders are from the future good of the Australian people.

I do have sympathy for many of those who have been forced into this world to know no other life than that of complete social welfare. Also I feel for those who don't want to be in this situation and will do anything to get out but still keep getting pulled back by drugs, booze and other addictions and mostly by a failure of their own self esteem and self worth.

Kids having kids and to make it worse being encourage to do so with baby bonus payments (not one of John Howard's smartest moves) and a free house for life. How could they have been so naive to think that the long term effect of social reliance will not result in social delinquency?

Well the scary part is that they did know! Police are told to show force but ordered to do nothing but contain the violence. This is the so called "progressive society" that the left think we all want. Sometimes I think it's safer swimming with the sharks....at least they're honest.

Guantanamo inmates to Gaza!

My first toon for 2009 is almost an ominous sign of things to come with regards to not only our PM and his true agenda but that of the incoming US President. Would a real friend of Australia actually ask us to take some of the most dangerous individuals in the world and not imprison them here but allow them freedom and immigration status?

Not in my book. The very same freedoms and democratic lifestyle that the "PRISONERS OF WAR" in Guantanamo Bay were fighting to destroy.

This issue has been floating around the extremities of the LAME Stream Media for a few weeks but it wasn't until Jason Morrison on 2GB expressed his horror at such an insane decision, that was actually being considered by the Rudd government, that the leader of the Opposition, Malcolm Turnbull rushed to the phone early last Friday morning to express his opposition to the relocation plan and to add his voice to the many of the normally silent majority who soon wrote and called to express their outrage.

It then took only a few hours for the Acting Prime Minister Julia Gillard to get on the air and backflip their way out of this. Still she didn't leave the barn door completely shut, stating that "each individual case would be assessed" according to our "strict immigration criteria".

If just one of these fanatics makes it here and sets up camp then it will be a true betrayal of all those who have and currently are fighting and have died to protect the freedoms and Aussie culture that really you and I had better stop taking for granted!!!

If Obama wants to close down Gitmo -- "more pandering to his left wing voter base" -- then send the scum of the earth to Gaza, I am sure they will be right at home.

("The series" refers to cricket. The Australians were defeated by South Africa)

Of cats and the Bible

This toon deals with a few funny and also strange issues of the week. You no doubt know of the cat fighting between Julia Gillard and Julie Bishop, well I couldn't let that go without a dig.

Rudd telling us all a few weeks ago how we must all tighten our belts whilst the ministry give themselves another pay rise....

And of course the Hon. ALP Minister James Bidgood is at the fanatical side of things again by talking about his belief in Bible prophecy and in particular how we are now all at the "END OF DAYS" (maybe Rudd believes it too, that's why he hands out 10 billion dollars which will do nothing more than make a third of the population feel good over Christmas and absolutely nothing to stimulate this economy) whilst he takes candid photos of a troubled man attempting suicide and then tries to sell them to newspapers.

Very Strange week indeed? ...naaaah. Just typical of the looney bin that is our Parliament House.

Rudd is a spendthrift Leftist after all

What more can I say but "I TOLD YOU SO " The great self proclaimed "fiscal conservative" K Rudd, has not only halved the Howard created surplus in just 12 months but he openly admits that he will need to take it ALL now and put the nation back into a deficit!

Obviously more deception as he tries to spin the line that it's all necessary due to the sub prime collapse and the looming " Global Financial CRISIS". Give me a break !

This country is well insured against the problems facing the U.S.A and Europe. With Asia / sub continent and especially China in such great financial shape (Japan not included) and the massive fiscal strengths of our banks and the low unemployment (by the way that will be the next thing he will blame on the rest of the world if those figures go south to fast, due to the free market) not to mention the strength of our dollar and the massive resources that we still own and have, this Socialist Criminal of a PM wants to use the safety net to bail out his even more economically corrupt brothers and sisters in the state governments (sounds like Wall Street all over again, rewarding failure and greed).

As I have said all along , this ideology is not about improving the lives of "Working Families " (don't hear that one much these days do you?) rather it's about throwing money at failing state infrastructure -- failures largely caused by ALP "spend like a drunken sailor " economic policy. He is trying to bring some sense of normality back to a political party that has for so long been on the nose (especially in New South Wales ) in an attempt to save his political hide in the next federal election. He really is looking and planning for the future.... it's just that it hasn't got anything to do with us.

Comment from the Treasurer (Costello) who created the Future Fund here. He says Rudd is creating unnecessary panic as a cover for his cash grab
